To help you better understand WEEX stock futures-related products, we've provided the following overview of stock tokens and their key trading features. Read carefully before trading.

I. What are stock tokens?

Stock tokens are digital assets issued based on blockchain technology. Their prices are designed to track the market performance of the corresponding underlying stocks.

Stock tokens are not actual shares of stock. They are on-chain, price-linked derivative assets intended to reflect the price movements of a specific stock.

II. Key features of stock tokens

Prices linked to the underlying stock

The price of a stock token generally tracks the market price of its underlying stock through specific mechanisms.

Continuous trading

Stock tokens are traded continuously in the crypto asset market. Liquidity conditions may vary across different time periods.

No ownership of underlying stocks

Holding stock tokens does not represent ownership of the underlying stocks. Token holders do not have voting rights, dividend rights, or any other shareholder-related rights.

Fractional trading supported

Stock tokens support fractional trading, allowing users to gain exposure without purchasing a full share.

III. Trading characteristics across different market sessions

As stock token prices are designed to track underlying stocks, market liquidity and volatility may vary across different trading sessions:

U.S. market hours (9:30 AM – 4:00 PM Eastern Time)

The most active trading hours. Market liquidity is generally higher, bid-ask spreads are typically narrower, and price tracking tends to be more consistent.

Pre-market and after-hours (4:30 AM – 9:30 AM; 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Eastern Time)

During these lower-activity periods, market liquidity may decrease, bid-ask spreads may widen, and price volatility risks may increase.

U.S. market closed (weekends or public holidays)

When the underlying stock market is closed, stock tokens may still be tradable. But price volatility may increase due to the lack of real-time price references. You should manage risks prudently.

IV. Stock splits, reverse splits, and corporate actions

When the underlying stock undergoes corporate actions such as stock splits, reverse splits, or dividends, any adjustments to stock tokens will be determined by the token issuer.

WEEX does not proactively adjust token quantities or prices. Any related changes will be subject to subsequent announcements by the issuer or the platform.

V. FAQ

Do stock tokens generate dividends or payouts?

No. Stock tokens do not carry any shareholder rights and do not generate dividends or dividend payouts.

Are stock tokens considered stocks or securities?

Stock tokens are digital assets issued on the blockchain and are not equivalent to traditional stocks or securities.

WEEX only provides display and matching services for digital assets and does not offer securities or stock trading services.

Do stock token holders have voting rights?

No. Stock tokens are not real shares and do not grant any role in corporate governance.

What happens if the token issuer experiences issues?

If the token issuer is liquidated, defaults, or encounters other abnormal events, stock tokens may experience significant price volatility, reduced liquidity, or even a loss of price tracking. The platform will release relevant announcements in a timely manner based on available information.
