262.20040151 BTC was transferred from a Bitcoin address associated with the Lazarus Group, linked to North Korea. The transaction was observed on-chain as split into two new addresses and is valued at approximately $16.6 million at current prices. The Bitcoins were sent from the address bc1q62cl...ddkteq; about 182.2 BTC of the total amount was sent to the address bc1qwnah...ld5g2xy5, while 80 BTC was sent to the address bc1qxdkk...0874k9zs. The fact that the transfer did not head to an exchange wallet complicates the interpretation of the transaction as a liquidation. The on-chain movement resembles stages where assets are first distributed to new addresses and then directed to a final target. The Lazarus Group is a hacker organization linked to North Korea, associated with cyber attacks. Research indicates that Bitcoin addresses connected to Lazarus are not simple wallets but operate as parts of broader money laundering networks. The price of Bitcoin during the transaction was around $63,800. The magnitude of the 262 BTC movement is equivalent to approximately $16.7 million, but this amount remains limited when compared to the daily liquidity of the Bitcoin market. No clear reaction related to this transfer was observed in the price chart. The situation may change if the two recipient wallets fragment the Bitcoins further or deposit the assets into exchanges.
