Bitcoin Focuses on $67,000 Threshold in August

Bitcoin entered August with a cautious outlook after experiencing a significant recovery in July. Historical data for August indicates that Bitcoin does not present a clear direction. Since 2013, the average return has remained slightly above 1%, while the median return is in negative territory. Losses of approximately 9% were recorded in 2022, and 6% in 2023. Technical indicators reveal that Bitcoin has not yet confirmed an upward trend. Following a recovery from June lows, the price remained stable between $63,000 and $65,000 in July. Bitcoin is trading near its 50-day and 100-day moving averages, while the 200-day moving average maintains a downward slope towards $73,000. The weakening of trading volume during the summer months could significantly impact the price. In the short term, the first target in an upward scenario is to regain resistance around the 200-day moving average, followed by breaking above $67,000. If this level is surpassed, a higher resistance area around $72,000 may come into play. If the current consolidation zone cannot be maintained, there is a possibility of Bitcoin retreating to the $60,000 support level.
