Claude Cowork Upgraded in Chrome Sidebar, Supporting Cross-Device Sessions

Anthropic has upgraded the sidebar of Claude in Chrome to a full Claude Cowork session, allowing users to continue their work on desktop, web, or mobile after using the browser. Claude in Chrome can now directly utilize Cowork's skills, plugins, and connectors, enabling it to read web pages, click buttons, input content, and fill out forms. For local file operations or active control of the computer, a connection to Claude Desktop is still required. In July, Anthropic expanded Cowork to web and mobile, and this integration of the Chrome sidebar into the same cross-device session further enhances the continuity of work across browsers, computers, and mobile devices. The new sidebar is currently available to Max and Team users, with Pro users set to receive it in the coming weeks, while Enterprise users will need to have it enabled by their administrators.
