The DeFi deposits of the dollar-pegged stablecoin Global Dollar (USDG) have been recorded at $929.2 million. The total circulation has surpassed $3 billion, with about one-third of the issued amount moving into on-chain financial products. Global Dollar is utilized on DeFi platforms such as AAVE and Maple Finance for various purposes including lending and liquidity provision. Launched in November 2024, Global Dollar has exceeded $900 million in DeFi deposits within less than two years of its release. The Global Dollar Network announced on July 21 that its circulation has exceeded $3 billion, and the number of partners has increased to over 150. Global Dollar is backed 1:1 by the US dollar and highly liquid assets, and it publishes monthly proof of reserves reports. There is a growing demand for loans in the DeFi market, and it is being offered as supply and borrowing assets in AAVE V4. Global Dollar has also become the first stablecoin to be natively issued on the Robinhood chain, while Maple Finance is expanding on-chain credit products on the Robinhood chain. The expansion of DeFi deposits does not guarantee the price stability of Global Dollar or the returns of individual products.
