The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has transferred the case of Igor Kolomoisky and five former employees of PrivatBank to court. They are accused of seizing over 9.2 billion UAH and other financial crimes. The investigation claims that between January and March 2015, Kolomoisky organized a scheme to illegally seize the bank's funds to finance an offshore company and increase his stake in the authorized capital of PrivatBank. The participants in the scheme created an obligation for the bank to pay over 9.2 billion UAH for the repurchase of bonds at inflated prices, using forged documents. More than 446 million UAH of these funds were laundered through financial operations disguised as the buying and selling of securities. These funds were then contributed to the authorized capital of PrivatBank. The actions of the accused are classified under Articles 191, 209, and 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Kolomoisky is under investigation and is being held in custody; he has also been charged with fraud and laundering over 500 million UAH.
