Security experts have discovered that hackers have orchestrated a cryptocurrency scam using leaked footage from the game GTA 6. The hacker group CyberLeek leaked two documents and sold them on the dark web, after which several domain names and a token named Cyberleek were created. Over the next three days, about 20 fake accounts continuously bought the token in similar amounts, artificially inflating its market value to millions of dollars. The organizers sold off their holdings at the peak, leaving later investors with devalued tokens. The hackers also set up a vote for users to choose the next leaked content, but voting required purchasing the token first. Ultimately, only one option received 200 votes, while the others received none, indicating that the voting results were manipulated. Research suggests that the initial hackers may have originated from northern Germany, but the subsequent spread and cryptocurrency scam may have been carried out by another group motivated by profit.
