Nansen CEO: Robinhood Unlikely to Issue Tokens, L2 Strategy Focuses on Technology

Prefer us on GoogleNansen CEO Alex Svanevik stated that Robinhood is unlikely to launch a token, as this could create competition with its publicly traded stock, HOOD. There had been market speculation that Robinhood might introduce an ecosystem token, but the company is more likely to use blockchain as an underlying technological tool rather than building a business model around a token. Svanevik pointed out that the Layer 2 network currently launched by Robinhood operates on the Ethereum ecosystem and has a Gas token for paying network fees, making it unnecessary to issue an additional platform token. The core purpose of Robinhood's blockchain infrastructure strategy is to leverage blockchain technology to enhance product capabilities, rather than to raise funds or create new economic models through token issuance.
