NBU Authorizes 14 Non-Bank Institutions for Acquiring Services
The National Bank of Ukraine continues to authorize non-bank providers of acquiring services. Currently, 14 non-bank institutions are authorized to provide this service. The expiration date of September 2 does not automatically mean the cessation of operations for companies that have not completed the procedure. Payment institutions and financial companies that conducted transactions with signs of acquiring were required to apply to the NBU for license expansion. In 2026, the NBU authorized several non-bank institutions, including LLC "Rozetka Pay" and JSC "Zaporizhzhia Communication Service". Since 2023, LLC "NovaPay" and JSC "Ukrposhta" also have the right to acquire. The NBU continues to interact with participants in the payment market; however, the speed of application review depends on the quality of the documents provided. The main issues during authorization include non-compliance with ownership structure requirements and questions regarding business reputation. The expiration of the authorization period does not mean the automatic cessation of operations for companies, and the NBU will assess the situation for each participant individually.
