In Ukraine, preparations are underway for the autumn-winter period of 2026/27. As of August 1, the readiness of heating plants and social facilities exceeds 60%, residential buildings are nearly at 60%, and backup power for heating and water supply enterprises is ensured at 75.6%. A significant portion of planned work has been completed: about 60% of residential buildings, over 62% of social facilities, and more than 60% of heating plants have been prepared. The total need for backup power is 1214.6 MW, of which 918.5 MW has been secured. By the start of the heating season, regions must increase their capacities by another 20%. Minister Mykola Kalashnikov noted that in wartime conditions, regions should have a buffer in case of prolonged power outages or damage to infrastructure. To achieve this, it is necessary to conduct drills, test backup heating systems, and form emergency reserves.
