Saudi Arabia Cuts Crude Oil Prices for Asia as Hopes Rise for Easing Tensions in Hormuz
Prefer us on GoogleSaudi Arabia has lowered its main crude oil prices for Asia, with Saudi Aramco reducing the price of Arab Light crude oil to be delivered next month by 50 cents per barrel, making it $2 per barrel lower than the regional benchmark price. This move coincides with ongoing negotiations for agreements aimed at alleviating shipping pressures in the Strait of Hormuz. Despite threats from Houthi forces affecting alternative oil transport routes via the Red Sea, Saudi Arabia has opted to lower prices. Recently, global benchmark Brent crude prices have seen a significant decline, currently trading close to $80 per barrel.
