U.S. President Donald Trump announced on social media that the United States has reached an agreement with Venezuela to gain majority control of over 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves in the country. The U.S. and Venezuela have collaborated with private enterprises to ensure that American taxpayers will not bear any costs. Trump stated that this deal will more than double U.S. oil reserves, significantly increase oil supply, and lower gasoline prices in the future. Specific details of the agreement have not been disclosed, and the White House has not issued an official statement.
