Ukrainian developer Fire Point has begun integrating European technologies into the Freyja air defense project. The project involves 13 EU defense enterprises providing radars and control systems. The number of partners may increase to 20, with funding provided by the company. The new interceptor is based on the FP7.X missile, an accelerated version of the FP7, originally developed with Soviet S-300 and S-400 systems in mind, but now only 20% of the solutions remain common. The first successful interception of a ballistic target is planned before mid-2027. The project's goal is to reduce the cost of the interceptor missile to less than 1 million euros, which is 4-6 times cheaper than American Patriot missiles. The complex features an open system for replacing components, including radars from different manufacturers, and the launcher will accommodate four to six missiles.
