The expansion of clean energy in the United States is expected to reach 45 gigawatts (GW) in 2023, marking the highest level ever recorded. S&P Global has stated that this year's clean energy expansion will be approximately 25% more than the previous record in 2024, reaching 45 GW. The main sources of this expansion are solar and wind energy, with solar expected to increase by about 30% and wind by nearly 50%. Electricity demand is projected to rise by 39% by 2035, driven primarily by the expansion of data centers and industrial power usage. Changes in tax credit policies under President Trump are promoting short-term construction, with projects that began construction by July 4 needing to be completed by 2030 to qualify for existing tax credits. Clean power has a relatively quick construction timeline, with solar and wind projects expected to take less than two years. Consumer spending is also on the rise, with residential solar panel and related expenditures increasing by 21% in the second quarter compared to the same period last year. However, the clean energy market still faces policy risks, and reductions in tax credits and project cancellations could impact developers' investment plans.
