Zelensky Criticizes Rada for Three Failed Bills Worth $4 Billion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Verkhovna Rada did not support three bills that could have provided Ukraine with over $4 billion in international aid. Additionally, two of the bills are related to the International Monetary Fund's program. Zelensky noted that receiving $30 billion in assistance this year depends on internal decisions within Ukraine. The Cabinet must adopt 44 resolutions to unlock $15 billion by November 1. The remaining $15 billion depends on the parliament and the adoption of the necessary bills. The president emphasized that these are not funds for the government or the opposition and urged lawmakers to make decisions to secure international financial assistance, regardless of political affiliation. He added that there is a $27 billion deficit due to the Ministry of Defense, and negotiations with partners are ongoing. It is worth noting that on September 1, the Verkhovna Rada did not support the bill to abolish the exemption on parcels up to 150 euros, which is related to the conditions of the IMF and the EU.
