Ledger CTO Responds to Vulnerability FUD, Users Urged to Update Promptly

By: x.com|2026/08/27 03:05:06

On August 27, Ledger's Chief Technology Officer Charles Guillemet stated that there has been recent FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) in the market regarding Ledger, claiming that there is a vulnerability in the Ledger Ethereum application. Guillemet pointed out that the vulnerability is related to certain Clear Signing processes, which was discovered by Ledger's security research team, Donjon, using AI-driven tools. The issue was fixed and deployed two weeks ago. Users only need to promptly update their Ledger device firmware and applications to be protected. The relevant security company contacted its bug bounty program only after the vulnerability was fixed, failing to follow responsible disclosure processes, which implied that the issue was unresolved and created panic for attention. Guillemet reminded users to keep their device firmware and applications updated to automatically receive the latest security fixes, emphasizing that users should not be affected by FUD and should update their software and maintain safe practices promptly.
