Solar Pro 4 Intelligence Index Reaches 42, Still Lags Behind DeepSeek V4 Flash's 52

The flagship inference model Solar Pro 4 from South Korean AI company Upstage has seen its intelligence index rise from 14 to 42 in the latest evaluation, primarily due to enhancements in its Agent and long-context capabilities. The score for Terminal-Bench v2.1 increased from 12% to 57%, while long-context reasoning improved from 31 to 71, and GDPval-AA v2 jumped from 498 Elo to 1277, surpassing the human baseline of 1000. Despite Solar Pro 4's impressive performance among Korean models, it still falls short compared to DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731, which scored 52 points in the same evaluation, leading Solar Pro 4 by 10 points. DeepSeek outputs approximately 122 tokens per second, while Solar Pro 4 outputs around 65 tokens, making the former nearly twice as fast. In terms of pricing, Solar Pro 4 charges $0.30 and $1.20 per million tokens for input and output, respectively, while DeepSeek only charges $0.14 and $0.28, making Solar's output price more than four times that of DeepSeek. Overall evaluations and API cost-performance indicate that Solar Pro 4 has yet to catch up with DeepSeek.
