Verkhovna Rada Passed Three Laws to Secure €411 Million from the EU
On August 3, the Verkhovna Rada supported three laws necessary for implementing Ukraine's plan under the Ukraine Facility program. Once the procedures are completed, Ukraine will be able to attract €411 million in financial assistance from the EU. Two bills related to €274 million were adopted in the second reading. Bill No. 12117, aimed at improving the operation of industrial parks, establishes the rules for fulfilling special obligations by state enterprises. The second reading also supported Bill No. 14271 on renewable energy sources, which amends Ukrainian regulations in line with EU legislation. In the first reading, the Rada backed Bill No. 15437 on state aid, which restores the norms for controlling state aid. Ukraine's Minister of Economy and Environment Oleksandr Kravchenko noted that the supported decisions are a result of implementing Ukraine's plan under the Ukraine Facility. The Ukraine Facility is an EU program for 2024-2027 that provides financial support to Ukraine.
