Tom Lee: Ethereum Set to Enter Second Growth Curve as Wall Street Institutions Continue to Invest

By: coinpost.jp|2026/07/13 03:56:39

On July 13, Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat, stated during his speech at WebX 2026 that Ethereum is at a critical juncture similar to that of Amazon, Nvidia, and JPMorgan when they entered their second phase of growth. He believes that Ethereum's development path mirrors these companies, having experienced the ICO boom and the NFT craze since its inception, with a historical peak of $4,866. In 2025, driven by the approval of spot ETFs and the proliferation of stablecoins, it briefly rebounded to $4,955. Currently, the price has fallen to around $1,732, which Tom Lee defines as a "market abandonment in the bottom region." The future growth of ETH 2.0 will be based on four pillars: a new management structure for the Ethereum Foundation; smart agent AI; a settlement layer for the financial system; and ETH becoming a true "currency." He pointed out that Wall Street institutions are continuously expanding their investments in the Ethereum ecosystem, with these large institutions building Layer 2 networks, indicating that the traditional financial system is gradually migrating to the Ethereum ecosystem. Bitmine plans to hold 5% of the global ETH supply over five years, but has already achieved 95% of that goal in just 12 months. Currently, the company holds 5.74 million ETH, accounting for approximately 4.8% of the total ETH supply, with about 4.87 million ETH (around 85%) already staked.
