Trump Administration Refuses to Rejoin June Agreement with Iran

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has stated that the Strait will only be reopened if the U.S. restores the agreement, grants Iran exemptions for oil sales, and ends the maritime blockade. Recently, Pakistan, Oman, and Qatar have engaged in mediation, but progress has been limited. Analysts say that the memorandum of understanding reached in June is effectively null and that both sides are currently preparing for an escalation of the situation.
